Here Catch This

In this week’s sermon, Lead Pastor Chris Baker shares the story of Moses in Exodus chapters 1 through 12 and shares his revelations on how the struggles of your life are actually a part of God’s plan for you.

Whenever we do something, we generally tend to do it the quickest, easiest way.

People don’t usually take the long way home on purpose. Or try to do things the hard way.

So when Pastor Chris was reading the story of Exodus, it struck him as strange as to why God does things the hard way.

There were the Israelites in Egypt, slaves for 430 years.

Oppressed. Hurting. Miserable.

God saw their misery and decided that the time had come to fulfill what had been promised generations ago… that the Israelites would go and possess a land of of their own.

Questions To Consider:

  • Instead of softening Pharoah’s heart, what does God do?
  • Why does God do things “the hard way”?
  • Why doesn’t God solve the problem? Heal the sick? Restore the relationship?
  • Will you obey, even though life is hard right now and everything you know is flipped upside down?
  • Jesus is looking for trust and obeying from you through the most difficult times. What are you going to do with it?

Quoted Bible Verses:

  • Exodus 5:22-23
  • Exodus 6:9
  • Exodus 7:5
  • Exodus 9:15-16
  • Colossians 1:15-17
  • Psalm 61:1-2

What Are You Full Of?

In this week’s sermon, Lead Pastor Chris Baker asks “what are you full of?” Some of us can answer that question more quickly than others.

Who do you think had the greatest thing in history to worry about?

The answer: JESUS!

Think about His mission. To minister for only three years. To die at age 33. To sacrifice for all of our sins.

The big question Pastor Chris has: How did He go through life with that kind of burden, yet it seemed that he had:

  • no worries
  • no anxieties
  • no pressure
  • no fear

Jesus had every reason to have all of these things to cause Him to climb into a great depression hole, yet He was out rocking the world with hope and peace and an incredible power in His culture.

Wherever He was, things changed radically for those who were in His midst.

Think about where we are at in our time:

  • A monster virus
  • People passing away
  • People getting laid off
  • The world’s economic collapse
  • Homes to which we have grown rather fond of.

The list goes on and on and on. If we just focus on these things, we are doomed forever.

Questions To Consider:

  • How much time have you spent with other things than our Savior during quarantine?
  • What is the kingdom of God?
  • What are you full of as you are listening to this message?
  • What are you full of during this quarantine?
